Last Sunday, 7 November, the 2nd Volta a Peu i Marxa a Peu per la Discapacitat Ciutat de València was held , a popular race promoting sports and exercise and the fight against barriers facing athletes with disabilities.
The walk, organised by the Fundación Deportiva Municipal, in collaboration with OMAD, the Oficina Municipal de Atención a la Diversidad Funcional(Municipal Office for Functional Diversity), included a race (3.8 km), a non-competitive walk open to everyone (2 km), and children’s races for the little ones. In short, a race that gave everyone the opportunity to participate, regardless of their physical condition or age.
inSuit always shows its support of events which fight for people with disabilities
As always inSuit supports initiatives of this kind, and whenever possible we do what we can to participate as well. On this occasion, we were able to join the cause and take part in the event. Our team of brave runners was led by the three creators of the inSuit accessibility tool: Sebastián Rodríguez (CEO), Juan Antonio Cebollada (CCO), and Salvador Romero (CTO).
The rest of the team members comprised staff from our sales, operations, and development team, as well as members of our partner association Red Proyecto Social who also wanted to join us, as no one wanted to miss the opportunity to take part in this race for a good cause.
We were also joined by other partner organisations we regularly collaborate with in this fight, such as Cocemfe CV, Cocemfe Valencia, CERMI CV, Predif CV, La ONCE, as well as organisers of the event (OMAD), and the Fundación Deportiva Municipal.
Support the fight for integration of people with disabilities
This event was a celebration which also saw the participation of other groups, such as the Fundación del Levante UD (Levante UD Foundation), which offered a number of activities and exhibitions. The 2nd Volta a Peu i Marxa a Peu per la Discapacitat Ciutat de València was a great success and is now part of the city’s roster of running events.
In the coming years it aspires to consolidate itself as a key event in the fight for the integration of people with disabilities. Here at inSuit we will do all that we can to make this a reality!
